Bulgarian kilims from Chiprovtsi and Sharkoy are slit-tapestry flatweaves in Ottoman-Balkan designs: stepped medallions, birds and floral bands in deep red, blue, green and ivory. They are finely woven and lie flat.

Vacuum on low suction and turn it over now and then; both faces are finished. Have it washed by a rug cleaner, not a carpet cleaner, when it needs it.
